About the Edgar Allan Poe 200 Project

The year 2009 will mark the bicentennial of the birth of one of Western civilization's greatest writers, Edgar Allan Poe, who was born on January 19, 1809 and died a tragically premature death at age 40 on October 7, 1849.

On this site, admirers of Poe's literature and life will be able to pay tribute to him online. We will also be adding other features such as free downloads, videos, a mailing list, and more.

Join us here to be among the first to lift your glass to Poe when this site is formally launched on January 19, 2009.
